Hiking to Carlos Rosario

Looking for something to do on Good Friday we decided to avoid the throngs on Flamenco and hike out over to Carlos Rosario.

The trail is rocky and rugged and I remembered why I tell people they should not ride bikes over there.

I only thought to take photo's at the point where the ground was smooth enough for normal walking.

When I looked up I noticed the trail was quite lovely in our filtered light of a cloudy sky in the late afternoon.

Tiny blue butterflies circled around us on the trail.  I tried hard to follow them and get one that had landed but this little guy in the photo below was the only one who co-operated, but he was too shy to open his wings.
The macro setting on my camera let's you zoom right in on tiny subjects.   He's no bigger then your thumb nail.
As we crested the hill we were hit by the the roar of loud music being played by several different boats and the loud shouts and laughter of people drunk enough not to  notice the noise.

We chose to go swim on the other side hoping there would be fewer boats.   Fewer yes, but bigger waves.

Yes this was definitely quieter but although it looks flat in these photos it was actually quite rough and not good visibility.

So back we scrambled to the southern side of the point and entered the water between the boats.  We did however enjoy the aqua circus and their funny aquatic dances concerning deep water and open cans of beer.

Come back tomorrow and enjoy the underwater shots as the adventure continues.   These are just a couple of teasers to peak your interest.
