With Hurricane Tomas spinning around to the south of us... All eyes are on the weather these days. I thought it might be a very good time for me to introduce you to a friend of mine named Suzanne, who does a weather report for the Caribbean. She and her husband Eddie live in Jayuya PR on an orgainic Arabica coffee plantation. I don't know how many decades they've lived here but more than two I believe. Over the years Suzi began to notice that she did a better job predicting the weather than the news did.

Now everyday through the hurricane season, Suzanne sends out an email report. So all through the season I receive a short but concise note depicting the actions of the weather from Texas to Africa, Main to South America. Because of her emails I have learned a ton about reading the charts myself. And usually am the one telling friends heads up!

The emails have graphic images and links to loops so you can see for yourself.

She asked me to let people know about it and to tell them to write and ask to be added to her weather email at fincadelseto@gmail.com. She also sells her Organic COFFEE! (she ships to the states so I use it as Christmas gifts)

Well... Maybe it was Yesterday.

Yesterday at Zoni!

When Ken said he had to take a kayak out to Zoni Beach,I said "Hold on honey... let me grab the sun block!"

Any chance I get to step foot on the ever changing beauty of Zoni beach I jump for.

I am always surprised at the changes I find there. Some days there is no beach what so ever and other times there is this vast white sand beach that is unparalleled in it's beauty except perhaps by the sister beaches that line the north shore of Culebra.

"I have to take a kayak to Zoni." This is what we call work! You gotta hate our job!

To quote Dolly Parton in The Best Little Whore House In Texas.
"It's a business doing pleasure with you."

Radio Show. Adventurs In The Caribbean

I received a phone call from Caribbean Chris this evening letting me know he has a new radio show called Adventures in the Caribbean. He wanted to invite as many people as he could to check out the show. It airs for the first time this morning (Saturday Oct 9th) between 11 and noon, on WOSO Found at 1030 on your AM dial.

He's asked me to call in, which has me shaking in my flip flops... Despite all outward appearances... I am a bit shy. (I hear you laughing, but I really am shy.)

Passenger Ferry Service

Do to the high winds, the passenger boat has been unable to dock.

At 1pm today Friday October 8th. The regularly scheduled cargo boat will be leaving Culebra carrying with it not only our passengers but Culebra's own passenger boat crew. Once in Fajardo the crew shall commandeer the vessel and use it continuously over the weekend for the passenger ferry schedule.
